East Baton Rouge Parish School System Disaster Recovery and Grants Management

In August 2016, historic flooding in South Louisiana prompted the East Baton Rouge Parish School System (EBRPSS) to seek assistance from CSRS in rebuilding the numerous facilities that were damaged or destroyed by the widespread inundation. CSRS worked closely with funding agencies and internal departments to ensure the proper allocation and use of federal and state disaster recovery funds.

CSRS' grants and project management experts focus on maximizing eligible federal dollars, leveraging their experience from numerous similar disaster recovery efforts. With proven processes in place, our team efficiently reduces timelines for eligibility determinations, ensuring smooth project cash flow. By providing technical knowledge, business processes, and strategic policy guidance, CSRS has been integral in helping EBRPSS recover all affected facilities.

When the COVID-19 pandemic further disrupted the East Baton Rouge Parish community in March 2020, EBRPSS again sought CSRS' expertise. Our team guided the district through the disaster recovery and reimbursement process for federal funding under the CARES Act, collaborating with FEMA and multiple federal agencies, including the Department of Education, Department of Treasury, and Department of Agriculture. We continue to track funding, ensure no duplication of benefits, and expedite grant requests to ensure the district receives prompt reimbursement for COVID-19-related expenses.
